Pioneers InAsia mobilizes teams to glorify God among unreached peoples by initiating church-planting movements in partnership with local churches.
The pioneering, innovative DNA of Pioneers was given to it by its founders, Ted and Peggy Fletcher. Forty years ago, the Fletchers felt the burden for the global harvest and were led by the Lord to create a missions agency that focussed on sending missionaries to the unreached. Ted left his corporate job at the Wall Street Journal to build the organisation and in 1979, Pioneers sent out their first missionary from the USA. Since then, the movement has become truly global with 18 mobilisation gateways around the world which send people from over 60 nations. Click here to read more of the story.
In 1989, Pioneers inAsia was formally registered in Singapore to be the Asian mobilisation base and since then, we have sent from over a dozen Asian and Central Asian countries.
As of October 2019, Pioneers has 3,282 international members serving on 340 teams in 97 countries among 510 people groups. We are privileged that the Lord would allow us to partner with local churches to send people to some of the hardest places in the world.
OUR CORE VALUES
Pioneers inAsia adheres to the core values of the international Pioneers movement. These values are at the centre of our mission and can be seen in many aspects of our mobilisation process, as well as our work overseas.
PASSION FOR GOD
Our passion is to glorify God throughout the nations of the world, through obedience to the Bible, and by living and proclaiming the message of salvation through Jesus Christ.
Our hope is to share God’s love with those people in places where the Gospel is yet to be effectively proclaimed.
We empower our members through an interactive approach to decision-making, based on mutual trust and accountability.
LOCAL CHURCH PARTNERSHIP
We believe that the local church is central to God’s mission thrust. We therefore desire to assist and facilitate missionary sending congregations to maximise their effectiveness in world evangelisation.
ETHOS OF GRACE
In all our relationships, we endeavor to cultivate an atmosphere of mutual acceptance and respect which encourages each of us to attain our full potential in Christ.
We are not lone rangers. Our entire ethos and structure rest on the strength, growth, creativity, diversity and cohesiveness of our teams.
INNOVATION AND FLEXIBILITY
The message of God’s love in Jesus Christ is timeless and there are a thousand ways to make that message known. We see ministry methods as flexible and changeable according to people, circumstances and locations.
CHURCH PLANTING MOVEMENTS
We pray God will use us to bring into being, healthy congregations that will multiply until the whole people group is impacted by the Gospel
