We Asians take our food seriously. Whenever we savour delicious food that evokes a sense of nostalgia or delight within us, we cannot help but tell others about how satisfying that experience was, even urging them to go and experience it for themselves.
Jesus said that His food was to do the will of the Father who sent Him (John 4:34). At Pioneers inAsia (PiA), we take this food that Jesus referred to seriously. Igniting a palate for the nations is about preparing hearts and minds to be satiated by God and fulfilling His longing for the nations. It is about coming before God, hungering for Him, desiring to be filled by Him, recognizing His heart for people and serving His mission. PiA’s desire is to cultivate a conducive space for this divine ignition to take place.
As PiA turns twenty-five this year, we invite you to join us to whet your palate for the nations. In 2023, it is in our plans to engage with you on the 25th of every month in different ways. Do keep a look out for the wide variety of monthly “dishes” that we will be serving you!
We are also planning a thanksgiving and celebration dinner on the evening of 11th May 2023, to be held in Singapore. If you are in the country, we would like to extend a warm welcome to you to come join us. More details will be provided in the coming months.
Our hope this year is to see Asian churches, friends and partners savour a delightful intimacy with our Father, and ignite a stronger palate for the unreached in the nations.
David articulates our hope when he says in Psalm 57:7-11:
7 My heart, O God, is steadfast, my heart is steadfast; I will sing and make music.
8 Awake, my soul! Awake, harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn.
9 I will praise you, Lord, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples.
10 For great is your love, reaching to the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies.
11 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth.
Our Mission: Pioneers inAsia mobilizes teams to glorify God among unreached peoples by initiating church-planting movements in partnership with local churches.
